I dont know an immediate solution for that given its resolution but just as a point to note, i prefer using % on width and height so that pictures do get distorted given different out of ratio pixel values of height and width

Using % to define image sizes has issues with wide or small screens where the image gets distorted or too small. I like to use divs where I define the container div statically to something like 1000px wide. You can then subdivide all children divisions in whatever manner without affecting the images.
@john: I always like explicitly position images/divisions and define their width and height. That's me however and I don't know whether this is standard but gets rid of some of these issues

thanks Sam,I hv used divisions to divide my pages into left, center and right and also used exact image sizes for the image but when i increase screen beyond the one I used the images become distorted,I had thot of using % to scale them, bt the problem is that the jquery script I hv used doesn't accept % scaling.for example the images appear okey for 1024 x 768 screen resolution but leaves alot of blank spaces for bigger screen resolution.
